Welcome to the ISE Scientific Forums

The ISE forums are designed as an entertaining and educational project for all sentient lifeforms. It is a place for a virtual 'Meeting of the Minds' where scientific and technical discussions can occur far away from the 'silliness' seen on most blog sites. To participate in the forums, please login to the site in the space above (or on any ISE page for that matter). Don't have an account? No problem, you can create one quickly and be posting your thought in about two minutes. Anyone is welcome to join in the discussion - so don't be bashful.

We will generally create category topics which are of interest to us and currently have a couple of politically-charged categories to get folks off and running as well as some classical haunts for the technically-minded. Anyone is welcome to create topics that interest them. If you don't see your particular area, start a new one under the general discussion topics area and we'll create a new one for you.

Science is far from an up-tight subject, so let's exchange ideas and have some fun while doing it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Current Forum Status as of 2/15/12: The forums are off and running. We have added a paranormal science category at a members request which is turning out to be a popular spot.

Kepler's Rumpus Room

This is the category for all things space-related. Topics in astronomy, astrodynamics, aerospace engineering, etc.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has been in the news quite a bit lately. It seems like they've got their hand into everything - except of course, their primary mission statement. So what do you think, has space travel and astronautics become too hard for NASA? Is NASA more hot air these days than rocket exhaust? You be the judge. Do they still have the right stuff...

Paranormal Science

This is the general category where discussions of paranormal science are examined. Keep it tasteful, but don't hold back on the scientific opinion.
We've seen a lot of silly television shows with people running around using various gadgets to 'detect' ghosts or other supernatural phenomena. Does this work? Share your thoughts and experiences.

Applied Mathematics & Computing

Theory is great, but eventually the rubber-has-to-hit-the-road. This area is reserved for the numerical problem solvers amongst us and their faithful friend, the computer. Got a question? We might have an answer, or know someone who does.

The Inertial Frame of Reference

A forum area for all things related to physics. Newton spends a lot of time around here. Einstein is mad about the name of the group.

Much has been said about global warming, and it's no secret that ISE believes the current notions of anthropogenic global warming are, well, hogwash (we're being kind). That being said, we submit the topic for an open and candid technical discussion. Let the games begin...
